~ Clearly Muddled Blog ~
My grandson, Connor, was just diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. I figured it was coming, but hoped it wouldn’t. I’m not saying anything negative about anyone that has those diagnoses…I can only speak about what it’s like living with, caring for, and loving someone that does.
Josh has Autism and ADHD, and he’ll raise you three…in the form of OCD, Depression, and an Anxiety Disorder. Sometimes I can help him, and other times it seems that he isn’t reachable. That second one is crushing.
It’s not the diagnosis that’s upsetting, it’s knowing how difficult life can be when the symptoms and issues created by them rear up, and disrupt the hard fought momentum. I’ve come to despise square one.
It’s hard. It hurts. It’s confusing, overwhelming, exhausting, surprising, and often hysterical when I least expect it. I adore both of these complex and wonderful boys. They make me a better person.
Let the rumpus begin!!
