Selling a house is stressful. Moving and leaving all that is familiar is stressful. And getting everything and everybody ready for both, is exhausting. That’s exactly where Josh and I are right now. We’re pooped! He’s been shutting down and withdrawing, and I’ve been making a racket like a human pressure cooker.
I’m wiped out from all the physical, mental, and emotional work out all this has created. Josh is worn out from feeling his world shift. For a guy that likes things to be routine, this is anything but that. There’s no way for me to help make it routine either, because it’s just not. All I have to offer him is his space, and solitude. So, that’s what he gets.
People coming through the house to buy it, then inspectors digging around, sorting our belongings, packing, and the worst…Josh’s dad not being here, have all taken a toll on us. We’re just tired. And I’m whiny.
But I just thought of a quote that one of my college professors used to say. “When the opportunity for excellence exists, mediocrity becomes a sin.”
We have an opportunity to move forward into excellence. Let’s do that.
