~ Clearly Muddled Blog ~
Josh is constantly aware of what’s going on around him. He might not know how to express it in words, but he feels it in his body and it ramps up his brain frequency to an uncomfortable level. Sleep is sometimes the only thing that helps him recuperate. If he doesn’t get it, he doesn’t function.
Our house gets busy on a regular basis. Josh has to deal with all the commotion of four adults, two kids, and two dogs. Well, it used to be two dogs…now we have a new family member in the form of a ten week old puppy named Lucy. If the regular activity of home can make his head uncomfortable, puppy energy can make it explode!
The very experiences in life that I call the “good things” just feel like chaos to Josh. The happy sounds of a full life to me are my husband, kids, dogs, and loud laughter. For Josh, happiness is found in solitude.
I asked him about getting a dog of his own. I said that a dog could be his new best friend. He said…”l don’t want to be in charge of beings, I want to be in charge of things”. Noted.
Maybe the next puppy we get should be named “Thing”!
